To save tech support some grief...
Aug. 19th, 2004 11:48 amIf you live on the Tech campus, you've probably seen that wonderful login page by now...and have had your connection drop out at least once. Try this before calling 4Help:
- Click on the Start Menu, click "Run".
- Type
cmdin the box, then click OK. - In the window that appears type
ipconfig /releaseand hit Enter. - When that's done, type
ipconfig /renewand hit Enter. - Close that window, and try to open up a website. You should get that login page. Bookmark it, you'll prolly need it later.
- Type in your PID and password, click the "Log In" button.
- You should be OK now. If a little pop up window appears,
don't close it, you'll be looged out if you do.it's OK to close it -- just click "Cancel" if a message box appears asking if you want to log out. (Thanks,
yubbie.)
If this doesn't work, consult 4Help, your RCC, Get Connected staff (if they're around), or your pineal gland.
