So, I submitted my project early this morning, and got a 100 on my first submission. Yay! ^_^ Of course, the next one is immediately following that, and it's implementing a binary search tree. And these are the "minor" projects. And, of course, Capra's rambling doesn't help matters much. *sigh*...why does the CS department give asshats like Capra and Gifford classes to teach, anyway?

Speaking of asshats...my Chem recitation TA decided my writing wasn't neat enough for him, and deducted 5 points (out of 35) for "neatness". Now, I've been doing homework by hand for a while now. Many people -- including some of you who read this -- commend me on my neatness. So I don't see this TA's problem. But don't go by me -- judge for yourself.

Anyway, I'm going away for the weekend. Going to Princeton, NJ for a Quiz Bowl tourney. I should be back in time for the T-Con meeting. Bad thing is, I have to make my way to Durham to meet the others. Oy. That ice is terrible. Why Tech didn't close, I don't know. Hell, Hokie Grill opened late, why can't I miss class? If the answer is, "because we're students", I'm going to hurt someone. I'm sick of this university treating students like scum, dammit. I almost slipped and fell three times making my way to Whittemore this morning for Intro to CpE. And the teacher did slip.

Anyway, off I go. I might be on AIM, but prolly not.

Your TA sucks. Bitch to the professor, if the prof is nice. Mine told our asshole TA where to stick it.

So I guess "Baby's First Data Structures" isn't as easy as you had thought, hmm?

That's what happens when one person's designing the projects and another's teaching the class.

Actually, I've talked to the guy. He knows his stuff fairly well. He just thinks we don't, or has an erroneous picture of how much stuff we know.

Binary search tree? hah, I built that project in less than an afternoon.

Actually, it was a lot of fun.. trees are awesome, they're Sooooo much better than lists.

Those kinds of classes suck, I agree. I was just amused that Andrew, who was saying how boring and slow the class was before, was complaining that the projects were insanely hard now. Not that a B-tree is hard or anything. If you can write a list, you can write a B-tree in about the same amount of time.

Your handwriting is freakishly good, and you draw boxes around your answers and everything. Your TA is just bitchy.

If your TA is anything like my old teachers, the -5 points for neatness has nothing to do with your handwriting and everything to do with frilly edges on your paper.
