Note to potential employers: When you tell me that you're going to contact me whether I'm hired or not at the interview, please do so. Don't make me call you all ad nauseam trying to figure out whether I'm hired or not.

Such was the case with Netmar, when I had to call for two weeks just to figure out that I wasn't hired, after they told me they'd call me by the end of the week following my interview. Grr.

I have, of course, been trying other avenues. Put in a resume to STL (CRC company), but they didn't get back with me to schedule an interview (I called them so my name would stick in their mind, but no dice). I put in an application for an open IT support position in the VT Purchasing Department, but they haven't contacted me back either.

The only people I have heard from is the Calling Center, but all they require of their employees is that they're alive and not mute. I have a phone interview with them tomorrow. If nothing else, it'll do while I try to find work during the summer.

*sigh* I just wish more people were willing to give me a chance. I'm not dumb. And I'm not inexperienced. Yet I just lost out a job doing Linux administration. Granted, my interview didn't go so well, but I have a lot of experience with Linux. But despite that, it's very likely that this summer I'm going to be trying to convince alumni to give the university money for $8/hour. Which means, of course, that when graduation rolls around, I'm going to be more hard-pressed to find an employer than, say, somebody with a 3-year internship at that company. But nobody's willing to give me a chance.
