I think there's something wrong with my computer's hardware. One moment this afternoon, the signal from the video card cut out without reason. When I started it back up, HAL wouldn't start. Now the video card just seems to cut out at random intervals, leaving the monitor to tell me, "Oi! There's no signal!" This happens without fail when I turn on my computer, usually after about 10 minutes or so. At this point, I'm not sure what to do. I really don't have the cash to buy a new video card, if that's what it needs. Or a new motherboard, which is the only other thing I can think of.

Right now, almost all of my life's work sits deactivated on my desk, mocking me and questioning my worthiness to be a geek. I'll try taking a better look at the hardware tomorrow. Any other things I should try would be appreciated. Note: Telling me "Buy a Mac, they're better" is not helpful.
