Sep. 7th, 2003 12:54 amNot much done Satyrday, work-wise. Did my quiz for McQuain. He had posted another assignment he made no mention of in class. Did it too (it was just to sign the course agreement form). Should be doing other things tomorrow, but I'll be going to the New Member Picnic. Hmm...maybe I can bring my laptop with me...
Doing the quiz was the first thing I did after I got up. I then went to Kroger. It is an interesting experience, trying to get to the mall on the bus with two dozen drunk guys from the game that were going to parties. It was not pleasant, however -- especially when the bus driver's relief was late showing up at Burruss. The drunks were actually talking about driving the bus! At that moment, I decided that it would be best if I left before things developed into a sticky situation. I got up, and they all cheered, thinking I was going to drive the bus -- until I went out the door, and then it turned to boos and cries of "You suck!" I was about to find an alternate route when the relief driver finally showed up. I got back on, and the rest of the journey proceeded without incident.
Got back to find a message from a depressed mother asking me to call her. When I did, I found out why -- my adopted sister's biological family showed up in town and rented an apartment about a block from my house. My sister's moving in with them sometime next week. I had mixed reactions about this -- she had been there for me sometimes, but most of the time she got into fights with Mom that made the prospect of World War III seem a pleasant diversion. She also stole my stuff, was possessive about the cat, yelled in my face. But Mom was hurt by her leaving. *sigh* I think this will turn out to be for the best in the end, however. I just wish that I hadn't bought that monitor for her computer.
After that wonderful conversation, I basically goofed off the rest of the day. Played Unreal Tournament, Deus Ex, etc. Talked to tadakimacun. That sort of thing.
And now I'm here. I'll see most of you at the Picnic. And now, I shall sleep.
