I am sick to death of being screwed over.

During the Christmas Party, [livejournal.com profile] anterus, [livejournal.com profile] tigerofthewind, and I decided that we would move off-campus together, preferably in [livejournal.com profile] vond's old townhouse. This struck us all as a very good idea, given its niceness, the fact that we knew the previous occupiers to not have done terrible things to it, and its optimal location. We agreed to start looking into this possibility after winter break. Some days after classes had started again, I asked [livejournal.com profile] anterus when we would start working on getting this together. He said not to worry, as it was being taken care of. I asked if I was still in as their roommates. He said yes, unless I wanted out, which I didn't. I accepted this for the immediate future, since I felt paranoid after asking this question.

Fast-forward to yesterday. I asked [livejournal.com profile] anterus what was happening with off-campus housing. He said to talk to [livejournal.com profile] tigerofthewind, which I did tonight. They got a 3 BR apartment -- with the occupants being themselves and another person who was not me. Their rationale for this was that 1) they couldn't get the townhouse, and 2) they had to make a quick decision, and a 4 BR apartment cost $100 more/month to rent. So they instinctually fucked me over.

People sometimes wonder why I'm so untrustworthy of those around me, even those I consider my friends. Scenarios like the one above are why. Thanks to them and their machinations, I now have to find a place to live, with roommates not my friends, possibly for much more than what I would have paid had I gone in with them. This is because I can't go back to Charlottesville this year -- upon hearing that I might have off-campus housing this summer, my mother didn't rent a van to get my stuff back to C-Ville; this van is now unavailable. So unless I find a place to live this year, I'm screwed.

All thanks to [livejournal.com profile] anterus and [livejournal.com profile] tigerofthewind. Fuck you both very much.

Actually if you had gotten the townhouse you could have moved in anytime you liked. All leases don't start in August, that's just as false an assertion.

Andrew not checking on it was because he put his trust in you, and that trust was clearly misplaced. If this were a minor thing it wouldn't matter, but when it comes down to housing in this town, if the situation changes you owe it to the people who are in it with you to TELL THEM. It's f'in common sense! And given that it's obvious common sense, you must have done it deliberately, and I'd call that cruel.

Bullshit. From what I've heard, you weren't planning to tell me until after TCon, giving me a whole six weeks to figure something out.

Also, for the record, not getting the townhouse would not have been a deal-breaker. I suggested the townhouse in the first place because it was 1) vacant and 2) optimal. I knew that there was a possibility that the townhouse would be unavailable. In that case, I would have been fine with Foxridge.
