First off, a happy birthday to
jazzfish. Sorry it's late, blame WV's lack of decent Internet access.
Thanksgiving went OK. Ate some food, though not too much -- trying not to gain weight. The whole family showed up, and I conveniently hid myself in a corner -- the dining room was too crowded. I had to hear the comments from my relatives about WVU beating Tech. Mom gabbed about what little she knew about my life at college. I got complimented on my haircut, though I thought it was a bit too short (Mom insisted I get it cut so my uncles wouldn't complain about my hair being long -- like I give a damn). My adopted sister showed up (she moved back to WV). Other than that...*shrug*
So...what am I thankful for? Mainly, for the friends I have that make my life more bearable -- especially (in complete disorder)
nixve,
zerblinitzky,
tadakimacun,
jazzfish,
uilos,
robertliguori,
nius,
rainbowsaber,
vond, and
kittenchan.
I am also thankful for my laptop, which has allowed me to complete coding work for my OOP project. It reached a buildable state today, and I'm working on debugging it now. Right now I'm oddly perplexed by some code which should be a straight string comparison throwing an exception. It doesn't make any sense. Of course, STL iterators are involved, which I haven't really worked with before, so it may be that. I doubt it, though. Some other things I've seen are working as they should, so I'm glad. Hopefully, once I get this fixed, the other errors will be minimal.
And, finally, good luck to all of you in retail who are working on Black Friday. May it not be incredibly stressful.
Now, I go grab dinner and try to figure this out.
