Weekend Update with Andros and...D'oh.
Oct. 24th, 2003 11:03 am- SGA was more of the same. New resolution to commend the governor for revealing his education plan. A committee in Richmond that one of the SGA executives sits on a subcommittee of is recommending an 8% tuition increase once a year for the next four years to meet our budget shortfall (Richmond has decided that they're not going to fund schools back to what it was before the budget crunch, as they believe us damn kids should pay for it ourselves). Meanwhile, the governor is saying that the schools should confer more degrees in ten years, and that the schools should have more research money. Of course, this doesn't solve the problem of the schools not having teaching money, but I think he wants to bury this issue until he gets re-elected.
- Discrete test a little less rigorous than what I expected. I felt OK about it, but since (in this case) perception is not reality, I'll wait till Monday before drawing any conclusions about the future of my grades. All I need is a 2.0 for that Math minor...
- VTSFFC was awesome. We ended up virtually MSTing The Matrix Reloaded. See
nius's post on the event, although I said some things that were funny too, like, "Help! I'm trapped in a KFC!" I guess that didn't register. Ah well. I'm still looking for a can of Liquid SegfaultTM. - The headphone port on my laptop broke last weekend, and I called Dell to RMA it. Mom contacted me sometime during the week to let me know that my Dell RMA box had shown up at home, exactly where I didn't want it to go (*grumble*stupid tech support people*grumble*), so I have to go call Dell, wait a half-hour to talk to an actual human, and yell at them. But anyway....I asked Mom about the possibility of me going to Williamsburg for the weekend. She was surprisingly cool with it. So now I'm going to Williamsburg this afternoon. Whee! I should have some pictures when I get back.
And now, I leave you with this personality test:
