Recent happenings

• There was a small electrical fire in the lab yesterday. Not serious, but someone did pull the alarm (although we were told not to evacuate). It was fixed in a minute.
• Found out that joining Team Hokies would not let me move in early. Mom was a bit upset, since I told her it did. So, I'm not doing it.
• Been playing with wxWindows. First I compile the libraries wrong, then I compile them right and it still won't compile my code. The code looks good, though. Hmm.
• Pay day tomorrow. Two more weeks until I have enough for a laptop. I've recently realized how helpful eBay could be in a case like this.
• I've also been playing with maps to Star Trek: Elite Force. One site has maps of TOS ships based on the official blueprints and sets from the TV show. My favorite thus far is the map of the Enterprise's rec decks, complete with the Dance Hall of Doom and the Bowling Alley of Death. Imagine hunting Species 8472 in that.

Other than that, it's been fairly routine. I should be arriving in Blacksburg the morning of Wednesday, 20 August. Hopefully I'll make it to Spiel on that date. And, of course, VTSFFC.

According to Rhonda Rogers, the RDP lady in charge, they never did that, and I was misinformed. Go fig.

I either saw it, or had it read to me; it did talk about having an opportunity to check in early. Unless that's just a misleading way of saying "we want your butts here bright and early wednesday morning, so you might as well check in when we open, before the mobs arrive."

I enjoy PadMan's Elite Force maps myself, though I have to turn down the texture resolutions for my video card to handle it.

I've been trying very hard to make a custom skin for myself, but while I can get it to appear on bots, I can't get it to appear on me!
