suck...suck...suck...
Jun. 9th, 2003 11:23 pmErg. Orientation for work started for me today. We all sat in an auditorium listening to people lecture at us about different topics -- lab safety, corporate compliance, quality assurance, security procedures -- for several hours. It sucked my brain out. I heard so many marketroid buzzwords I felt I was in a Dilbert strip. At least my supervisor bought me lunch (with the rest of the new hires in that department). That was better. Then more droning. The tryptophan from the turkey sandwich kicked in. And it was boring. I left around 5, with orders to come back tomorrow at 7:30 in the morning for the next day's orientation. It's a week-long process. At least I'm getting paid for it. And after orientation, I'll have an easier work schedule -- ideally, 10:30-15:30 (when mom gets off work, and since she's in the same lab with me, we can leave together). Which will make things easier.
But if I'm getting up at 6 tomorrow, I need to get to bed. Good night...
