I've been out a while. Two weeks ago, I was at my Grandma's with Mom for our traditional "vacation." We didn't do much -- shopping, visiting relatives, etc. I was mostly a hindrance, if you believed my mother -- my erratic sleep schedule caused me to sleep till (gasp!) 11:00, which Mom considers "late". They also didn't like that I wasn't too keen on their eating schedule -- dinner at 4:30 in the afternoon? No lunch at all? C'mon...

After that, I had my interview at the Northrop Grumman office. They were interviewing me for several summer positions, many of which involving being on their factory floor assembling PCs. But there was a person there who needed a Linux programmer, and he seems like he's going to hire me -- talking about work schedules and such. I'll prolly find out on Monday or thereabouts.

Then came my trip to Williamsburg to see [livejournal.com profile] robertliguori and [livejournal.com profile] tadakimacun. V. enjoyable. Here were some of the things we did:

  • Went to see Shrek 2. Hilarious. All of you must see it. Now.
  • Meandered around Merchant Square, where I bought another Terry Pratchett novel (Small Gods), a collection of Bathroom Reader books, and a deck of those clear plastic cards that seem all the rage with the Spielers these days. This was all followed with a bit of ice cream and some poorly-shuffled 5-card draw poker. Then looking around in a used bookstore, where I picked up a seldom-read copy of Catch-22 for 4 bucks.
  • Saw Chicago at [livejournal.com profile] tadakimacun's house. Not bad, for a musical. Also saw the episodes of The Animatrix that weren't up for public download.
  • Played lots of Soul Calibur 2 for the Playstation 2, mainly cause [livejournal.com profile] tadakimacun's copy got wasted by a 6-year-old some months back and she was suffering withdrawal.
  • Went to [livejournal.com profile] tadakimacun's high school graduation. Lots of speeches and such, as is customary. Seems to be the only high school I know that has an alma mater. We then went to a social gathering to help [livejournal.com profile] tadakimacun escape her relatives, and I met some more of her friends.
  • The day after, we went to Outback Steakhouse and celebrated said graduation. If I may say so, [livejournal.com profile] tadakimacun really looks nice when she's all dolled up.
  • Went to EB Games, where I found a copy of Unreal, which I had been curious about.
  • Finished Mirror Dance, finally. Not an uplifting book, by any means. Think I'll tackle Small Gods next. Or possibly The Truth.
  • MSTed The Return of the King with [livejournal.com profile] robertliguori and [livejournal.com profile] tadakimacun. We're all sick and twisted :-)

The results are clear; spending time with [livejournal.com profile] robertliguori and [livejournal.com profile] tadakimacun is much more enjoyable than spending it with my relatives. A million thanks, you two, for making it so.*hugs* And thanks to [livejournal.com profile] robertliguori's parents for being so kind as to let me stay over there for a week.

So, what's next? Origins, that's what. I leave the Tuesday after next. I'll prolly be back in town the following Monday. In the meantime, I get to work on more job stuff, and maybe get started working on my projects. Whee.
