On the Eve of My Return
Jan. 16th, 2004 10:47 pmI was unable to find that issue of Computer Gaming World I talked about last time, so I got myself a $10 games pack that had Deus Ex and Thief II in it, which was all I really wanted out of it anyway. Also included was Tomb Raider Chronicles and Commandos 2. Don't know if I'm bringing those or not. In the process of trying to track down the magazine and buying that software, I lost my high school class ring. That sucks. I'm sure it's around the house somewhere, but I don't think I'll find it in time. But it's just jewelry, and I'll be getting another ring soon enough (although I'll still look for the old one). Besides, I never liked high school anyway.
Today was my last day of work, which was slow. One of the supervisors made me brownies that had the consistency of cake batter, but were otherwise fine. Mom made me tell the bosses that I may be returning for the summer, but I hope that I don't have to. That place was bad enough.
In the meantime, I have squandered my time playing games on the computer and surfing the net, meaning that I have not set up the web server yet. I'm still bringing it with me, but I'll have to work on it when I get back to Blacksburg. There are other issues that have cropped up, like how to set up mail redirection on the server and still be able to check email on my desktop. Now I just have to curb my tendency to get distracted by other things long enough to do this.
At any rate, I'll be packing my things tomorrow and returning to Blacksburg on Sunday. Funny thing is, for weeks now I have been wishing to get back to see everyone again, and now I've been feeling sort of sad about it. Ah well. I'll probably feel better tomorrow.
And now, I go to read something, either the Apache manual or Guards! Guards! No, I still haven't finished it.
