Jul. 23rd, 2003 10:46 pmNew Textinator out. This one adds support for templates and font customization (although it doesn't save your settings). The templates are actually an interesting story -- I spent hours upon hours trying to create a single-choice dialog that would allow people to choose their templates based on a description and to create their own as well. I used everything trying to get it to work, but it wouldn't. Debugging it was hard as well, owing to the added complexity of wxWindows and the fact that VC.NET doesn't recognize it all (IntelliSense doesn't even show up for half the wxWindows classes I use). I finally decided to give up and use a simple open-file dialog that allowed the users to pick template files. Much easier. And it worked.
Got a letter from Team Hokies today confirming the fact that they were not allowing volunteers back early. It was basically a "thanks for volunteering, get your butt over here on Wednesday" letter. Since I signed up under false pretenses, I have chosen not to participate. I've got better things to do with my time.
Anyway, not much else going on. Except for Mom, the control freak that she is, being pissy over the fact that my sister's choices of her senior picture that I took (Mom didn't want to pay the school's studio $350, but she'll have me do it for a memory card) were not up to her expectations and that I should show her the other ones (the other ones weren't that great -- Mom directed the whole thing, telling me what angles to shoot at and what to get in the shot and so on). She wants to see the ones with my sister's hair down as well. My sister doesn't like those pictures. So now I am in the middle of one of their power struggles. Sigh...
