At last.

This afternoon, at approximately 13:45, Book Five came by FedEx (we ordered the book online, and they gave us free shipping). I picked it up, called my mom to say it was here, then went promptly up to read it. I finished it about twenty minutes ago. All 870 pages. I certainly hope Jo Rowling makes the next book a bit slimmer -- otherwise you'd need a crane or something to haul Book Seven in.

Mom walked in on me reading the book. She made a funny noise to indicate her dismay that she was not the first one to read it. I guess that's what you get for working the weekend. She whined that the book had lost its "new book smell", although, to be quite honest, I'm not sure it had it to begin with. Anyway, it's hers now, for the two weeks it'll take her to read it (that's why I didn't wait). So good reading to her.

I won't be revealing anything here. Most of you are just starting anyway. I'll just say that this book is irrefutable evidence that Jo Rowling is a living goddess. It was fun, despite the disappintment I felt at the end. The rest can wait for later, when you all have read it.
