Did somewhat little today. Slept until noon, then got out of bed for lunch. Decided to see Dark City, after leaving it in its wrapper since I bought it in Blacksburg. Not quite The Matrix, but I enjoyed it anyway. I got my $3.88 out of it. *grin*

Decided to change my computer's startup screen. For Windows 2000, this involves hacking the kernel, replacing the 640x480x4BPP embedded bitmap with another of the same size and color depth. I found a nice jpeg of Iria that I wanted to use, but it had to be dithered down. This introduced some artifacts, compounded by the bad alpha blending it produced. So I spent a while GIMPing it out, pixel by pixel. I'm pleased with my end result, though. It actually looks nice.

Tried to go to my old Explorer post tonight. They didn't show. Odd. Mom went over to her friend's to give her back the books Mom's had for six months and hasn't read They did some gabbing whilst I played cautiously with Mandy, the friend's dog. Eventually, we got home after grabbing some potato chips from Wal-Mart (whilst trading in my blister-inducing leather sandals for a larger pair).

Reloaded: Tickets have been purchased for Friday. Then Mom found out she didn't have a day off that day, but the week after. Since the tickets were nonrefundable, she decided she's going to fake sick that day. Heh. One way or another, we're going to see it.
