May. 11th, 2003 12:47 amUpdate on the email problem. Apparently, Juno (my ISP) blocks port 25. And they don't want the users to know the address of their precious SMTP server and bypass their proprietary ad-serving software. So now I need another ISP who has port 25 (SMTP) open. So far, no hope yet.
Meanwhile, Mom and I ran errands today. Went to dollar store to buy line splitter for phone, then to Wal-Mart to get some new sandals for me, as mine were falling apart. We went back home and watched The Matrix in preparation for The Matrix Reloaded on Friday (can't go on Thursday, as Mom wants to see it and she has to work, and I can't get to the movie theater otherwise). Already ordered the tickets.
Still watching Star Trek and looking for a better ISP. The problem is, no ISP (except for one) indicates on their website that they block port 25, and since this is my Mom's credit card, I am hesitant to commit to an ISP before I know what they do to it.
Rainstorms persist in our area, making it hard for me to turn on the outside fan and cool down the room. Humidity and computers are not good bedfellows. But life goes on.
