Well, it's been a better break than most. Nice weather, decent presents, and the opportunity to relax a bit. But now it's over, and the spirit summer has given up the ghost. *sigh* And I was looking forward to good weather in B-Burg for a change. Too much to hope for, I guess.
Anyway, my last week was somewhat eventful. I went to my old high school to see a teacher friend. I needed an escort to walk me down -- dunno if it's the Management beefing up security or if they simply don't like me down there. They don't get many ex-student visitors down there, I gather. And from the way they treated me -- like I was some sort of sex offender or something -- I'm not surprised. So much for old times.
I also got a call from DRS. They helped me out when I didn't get much financial aid. Anyway, they want me to look into getting a tutor due to my grades. I told them, fine, but I don't think they have tutors for DiffEQ. They still want me to look into it. Understandable, but I have few illusions as to the prospects of finding one. But if I don't bring my grades up, they pull my financial aid, so it's worth digging around.
I'm heading back to B-Burg tonight. While I'm anxious to see all of my friends again, this semester won't be an easy one -- CCS meetings in SGA, ACO tournaments, fast-track planning for TCon, and oh yeah, class.
And Winter Is Coming.

I think you weren't being as sarcastic in that sentence as you should have been.
The point: SGA, ACO, TCon, VTSFFC, Spiel, etc. are fun, but should all be running with idle priority in your process scheduler. Classes, homework, good grades, and graduating on time should be running at realtime.
To help with that: There's no shame in telling us "Guys, I can't come to Bogen's, I've got code to write." There's even less shame in saying, "Guys, I'm stuck on some stuff in DiffEQ, can somebody help me out?".
I happen to know somebody who already took Diff EQ, Discrete, Calc 1 thru 3, plenty of CS stuff, got a degree, and would tutor you if you asked for it.
