Well, I failed the AVL project for now. I coded one of the functions wrong, and that function turned out to be the most used one in there, so I got docked a lot of points. Plus, I got segfaults on every clear function, and on a special case on another command that I didn't handle -- which resulted in another segfault. So, I got an overall score of 55/100. I think the TA docked me twice for the same problem, though (once for segfaulting and once for failing the test), so I'm going to talk to Capra when I get my grades back so I can try to turn it into a C or C-. Otherwise, I think I'm royally fucked.

In other news, I just finished my last Chem lab report ever. Now all that's left is my Taillores project (environmental chemistry report) and one more lab with a worksheet to fill out. That's it. Of course, I also have DiffEQ and my looming ECE project.

I think I'm going to play Settlers online now.

sorry to hear...

Bummer about the AVL project. I hope talking with the prof helps.
Hey, at least the Chem stuff is getting cleared away.

Mmmm, Settlers online. Must resist, myself - some fun things
eat my brain, I dive into them so much. (Witness LJ.) *wry grin*

55? Eh, that's doable. Fight for a couple more points if you can, otherwise, "All you have to do is pass."

Wrong. I have to pass with a C to have count for CS.

you have to pass the course with a C. a 55 on a project isn't going to fuck your grade as seriously as you might think, especially with six projects. don't stress about it too much. if you get some points back, great, but if you don't, you're not in any danger. just do better on the remaining projects.

Yeah, its not the end of the world just yet.

Mmmmmmm... I would concentrate on words like 'curve' or 'class average.' If you see either of those anywhere, start feeling good about the grade you just got.

I once got a 13/85 on a project because I forgot to email it to the ta. And I failed two other projects in the same class. Just do good where you can and things will work out (even if you don't see the above mentioned words). There were five projects total and two tests and an exam. Because of those other grades, I still got a 'b' for the course.

But you're the kind of guy who needs hard proof, so here I go:
(55 + 77 + 77 + 77 + 77 + 77) / 6 = 73+1/3.
Feel better now?

Yes, but our projects are weighted differently. There are two major projects and three or four minor projects. The major projects are worth 20% total. The minor projects are worth 25% total. So, in essence, I have already lost 4.5 semester points.
