Dec. 19th, 2003 11:12 pmOK, so I'm home. Mom decided to give me one of my Xmas presents early -- a PS2, along with Frequency (though I knew I was getting that, since I had found the game at Wal-Mart for $10). Problem is, it needed a memory card. So today I went to the mall, braved the crazed mob holiday shoppers to find a 16 Meg third-party memory card for $25. Problem is, I need to boot its memory manager into the PS2 every time before I use it. Which means that I can't use it elsewhere unless I bring the disc. I'll prolly get a normal memory card later and use the 16-meg one as a backup. Why the hell didn't they put the memory in banks of 8 megs like everyone else? In any case, my new PS2 is fun.
Mom wanted a Xmas present, so I got her Blazing Saddles (she loves that movie), thus draining my bank account until I put my refund check from Tech in there. That should do me till payday from my job. I'll probably go get the wireless NIC for the PIII box I'm planning on using as a server, so it can be configured when I install Slackware on it. I'll buy the WAP after the break.
And now, I must get my fix of frag before my cat, standing over my LCD screen, decides to eat me.
