Got up about 7-ish (Ugh) to get laundry. As my mother had a record eight baskets of laundry to do, this took about two and a half hours at the laundromat. To pass the time, I played Golden Sun until the battteries gave out (which was sooner than I hoped -- must get new batteries). Afterward, I had Mom promise not to wait three weeks before doing laundry. Of course, she's going to anyway, but I thought I would at least change her mind.

As we got back, Mom got a call from a friend of hers, inviting her (and myself) to lunch at Chi-Chi's. I reluctantly said yes, after I found out that their hamburger platter was still on the menu. When we got there (about 11), we were the only ones there, so service followed quickly. Mom made it a point to make fun of me at every possible opportunity. I was embarrassed, and very annoyed at Mom. Afterward, she was pissed at me because I thought I should be OK with it -- after all, it was "only teasing". Right.

We went to the grocery store, and then back home, where I promptly took a nap. When I got back up, an email in my box gave me my first peek at Half-Life 2. The back story is that the aliens have now infected most of Earth, and Gordon Freeman has to eliminate them. The screenshots look amazing, and it's said that the AI will be revamped with an emotion engine that makes NPCs react to your presence. As soon as it's out, this is mine.

So, now I'm off to dinner.
