Aaron Sorkin writing politics makes me happy in pants.

And finally, someone comes out in public and tells Obama to take the gloves off! This is one of my biggest complaints about the Democratic Party -- they never seem to fight for what they claim to stand for. Instead, in an attempt to woo "independent voters", they make wishy-washy statements and pander. Even when they're not running for office, they bend over backward to not say anything even the slightest bit offensive to anyone. Even Republicans.

This needs to stop. This isn't Reagan's America anymore, and the Dems need to realize that instead of thinking that the only person they can run is some center-right Clinton analogue. The candidates who don't piss anyone off also don't excite anyone, and right now the only argument I can see to vote for Obama is that he's not McCain. A powerful argument, but Kerry tried that strategy in 2004, and it wasn't enough.

The Obama campaign needs to wake up and start throwing a few punches. And maybe offer a vision of something a bit less nebulous than Hope and Change so that people know what he's going to do.

Every human being has the right to be healthy, both physically and mentally. Whether they exercise that right is up to them, but I don't think people should be forced to die because some insurance company bureaucrat decides that they shouldn't have to pay for someone's medical procedure, or because some doctor thinks they or their patient will go to Hell if they perform a life-saving abortion. In either one of these cases, these people get to make a choice to end someone's life, and that doesn't sit well with me, especially if they're in a line of work where they're supposed to be saving lives.

So yes, health care is a right, and that's why I'm for a single-payer universal health care system, and I'm against those idiotic HHS rules they're trying to railroad through allowing doctors, pharmacists, etc. to not do their job.
