Nifty toys
Jan. 6th, 2006 10:05 pmGoogle just announced new services today at CES. One of them is the Google Video Store, where, among other things, you can pick up Star Trek eps for $1.99 apiece. What I find more interesting is Google Pack. It's basically an application that installs other popular applications -- All the Google apps, plus Firefox, Ad-Aware, and Acrobat -- and keeps them updated. This could make my job as RCC a lot easier -- allowing me to install a standard app suite with one installer instead of running three, and keeping them updated (provided that the lawyers don't give them a hard time about it). I also find this a little interesting WRT all the rumors about a Google PC/OS. It seems like they're building the framework for an operating system, one piece at a time.
In other news, I'm back in C-Ville again. I spend a week here, then to M4, then to B-Burg again to resume my schooling. And yubbie, if you could get me access to the FFXI listserv, that would be great. Thanks.
