Yeah, so I haven't really updated this thing in a while. Let's see how this goes...
I've been really busy up until Monday. Between RCC stuff, org registration, student org showcase, iFest, and my first OS project, I've barely had much time to stop and relax. On the plus side, I received kudos from almost all involved. On the ominous side, VTSFFC has appointed me their "magician". All I can say is I hope it comes with vacation time.
I've been trying to readjust my sleep schedule after my last wee hours coding session getting my *nix shell out the door. For my first serious C project, it's not half bad. That is, if you ignore the security flaws, functional deficiencies, and other things that make this shell dangerous in a production environment. Once the grades have been released, I'll post the source on my website. If anything, the programmers in my audience can take a look at the shit C code I write, and laugh.
Had the first real meeting with my Complex Director. He's an arrogant anal-retentive ass who thinks that 3 months as CD qualifies him as an expert on everything, including my job. He asked me to do a presentation on filesharing with one of the RAs. Apparently, the first wave of DMCA letters came out, and he was looking for someone to tell them that filesharing is bad. I told him that Homey Don't Play That, and he backed down a little. I'm sitting down with another of the Lee RCCs and the RA at some point, when they email me back about their schedules. It would be easier if people answered their email from time to time...
Classes are OK. Capra for OS (he's getting better at this), McPherson for Professionalism (yay, he doesn't give a crap and I know enough about the topics to teach the class!), and Griff Elder for Combinatorics (doesn't know how to utter a coherent sentence w/o stammering).
Meanwhile, Rising Star's in a week. Yay, con. Assuming I live that long...
