Aug. 21st, 2005 01:10 amGet Connected is pretty much over for me. If I get accepted into Phase II (like Phase I, only optional and by invitation only), I could make some more cash. It's obscene that I make enough money for one day of GC work than I do for a week and a half of RCC work when the latter is much harder. Especially with the likes of my CD for my housing-side supervisor. He was supposed to get in touch with one of us RCCs this week about floor meeting schedules. As of now, he has not done this, emailing one of the other RCCs to say he'd "tell us as soon as he knew", which I don't buy for a minute, as almost every RA from the 3rd-7th floors has meeting notices posted. As for actually meeting him, that seems like a near impossibility; he was never in his office (even before the students got back), and while his RA staff was doing check-in he was "busy" with "a picnic with his Area Director" and that he'd get in touch with me later.
This sort of behavior was exhibited in Nupur, my last CD. She never communicated with me very well, and she bungled things I asked her to do for my in-hall programming (copying flyers, getting food for the meeting, etc.). The result was predictable -- all of my programs were a dismal flop, and I got a middling-poor performance rating, which probably resulted in my banishment to Lee. It's hard to do good programming without at least some support from the housing staff, so this flakiness worries me greatly.
For the moment, one of the other RCCS is tacking the Lee Hall meeting times problem, leaving me to find out about West Egg's meetings. Not sure where to start with that; no CD is listed. This probably warrants a call to Gail Kirby tomorrow. Hopefully she'll be around, but on a Sunday, who knows...
