I'm still alive. I started work this Monday. This week I've been updating the Purchasing Department's internal website. Not very exciting, but easy enough. Eventually I'll have to teach the business wonks how to update it. That's going to be fun. And I have a bunch of other projects to work on this summer.
I guess the worst part about it is that I feel so isolated over here; there's nobody there that I have things in common with. Not interests; most of them are business wonks. Not age; I'm the youngest one there, and the second youngest appears to be 10-15 years my senior. This has started to affect me already, as I noticed my geekiness starting to slip today. Somehow, I feel dumber than I did when I got back.
Attempts to try and do something with my few remaining friends in C-Ville have failed, for one reason or another. So that leaves solitary video games as my primary means of escape, a poor substitute at best. Thankfully, there's Origins in about a month, and that will be awesome.
Assuming I can get a ride, that is. Is there anyone among my friends that could possibly give me a ride to Origins and crash space for the night before and after? I arrive in Roanoke the 28th and leave the 4th.
