My LAST Experiment with Bittorrent
Nov. 10th, 2004 12:57 pmIt's finally happened. After managing not to get caught for many years, I got an email today saying that they caught me sharing an episode of Battlestar Galactica. I sent a reply to the DMCA admin, so my bandwidth is safe...at least, until the Judicial Board gets through with me.
I guess I should have been more careful. I have never been very paranoid about my computer and what I do with it. I guess that changes right now. Bittorrent is out. So are most forms of P2P. AFAIK, the only two file-sharing programs that use encrypted traffic are WASTE and MUTE. That's prolly what I'll be sticking with for a good while, as my network connection will doubtless be under surveillance.
I wish this didn't happen. I guess the only thing to do now is to learn from the experience, and move on.
