Back from The Abyss
Feb. 20th, 2004 01:43 pmWell, I just spent the last week frantically coding my BST project. It wasn't pretty, but I got the job done. My main problem was my screwed-up g++ build -- it gave me wrong output, as well as some very weird linking errors that happened when I tried to make a debug build (that's why I was so upset at last night's VTSFFC meeting). I eventually installed slapt-get and updated my packages, but now that's screwed ALSA up. Going back to OSS didn't help either. So now I have no sound in Linux on my desktop. Phooey.
Before that, this past Sunday, I spent way too much money at the mall buying up stuff at Kay-Bee Toys (which was having a Going Out of Business Sale). I also found Elite Force II at EB for $15, and spent all of Sunday and Monday playing it. It was OK; the only thing going for it over Elite Force I was better use of the Quake III engine in the graphics department. The story was a bit better, too, but not by much. The multiplayer is good, but I wish there were more maps/player models/etc. for it.
Other than that, things are normal. I have a CpE project due sometime soon, but aside from that nothing major going on. CS project deadline got pushed back till Monday due to Curator issues, so I have virtually nothing to do this weekend. I guess I could do some of my DiffEQ homework...
