Long amount of catching-up ahead
Dec. 8th, 2003 01:52 pmI realize that I haven't made a post with actual content in a while. So I thought I would use some of this time to catch up.
- The rest of my Thanksgiving trip was an exercise in self-control. Grandma got herself a new computer on Black Friday, and since I was the CS major, I was enlisted to install it. One of my aunts there at the time decides to "supervise" my work. We had a problem at one point -- the modem included didn't come with a through port for the phone line, so I took the modem off the old computer. I didn't have the driver disk with me, so I installed the other modem back in and Grandma got a phone cord splitter. And my aunt would not shut up about how I "screwed up." The computer worked fine. Grr.
- After getting back to B-Burg, I procrastinated by downloading games. Among them were Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (pretty good) Day of Defeat, which I downloaded off of Steam (good as well), Crazy Taxi, which I bought at Wally World for 5 bucks (good for the price), and System Shock 2, which I just downloaded last night and am hooked on. Whew...
- I did have two projects to finish, however -- an awk script for Unix and a priority queue template for OOP (we were using an array of queue templates, nothing fancy). Both proved trivial to do, and I aced both projects. I am now done with required work for this semester, and can now focus on studying for exams.
- Went to the VTSFFC Holiday Party this past Satyrday, as well as Spiel Game Day (in reverse order). Forgot that I still had the key to Cardinal when I left for the party. But other than that, it was cool. We watched Terminator 2 and Stargate, both showing on SciFi along with promos for their Battlestar Galactica remake. *shudder*
And that's about it for catch-up. Hopefully, I won't have to do that again. I'm no good at long recaps.
