Jul. 31st, 2003 11:52 pmWhat's been going on:
- Found out that my ISP is not down, but I've exceeded my monthly usage limit for July (200 hrs./mo.). So I have to wait until August to get back on -- about 20 minutes away, as of when I wrote this. Heh.
- My laptop's been built, but, for some reason, they haven't gotten around to shipping it yet. You'd think it would take less than a day for Dell to put a laptop in a frelling box, but noooooo.....
- The hospital had a book sale, with funds going to the children's wing. Some rather cheap books there. And they took postdated checks, so Mom and I looked around a bit. Mom got me a set of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit for $17. I also found two books -- Prey by Michael Crichton and Darwin's Children by Greg Bear -- that I also want, so I'm going there tomorrow to get them. Nifty.
- NS 2.0 is out. Finally. It's been in the making for months. One thing that bothered me: even though the release date was today, they didn't release the client until 6 PM. That was silly, in my opinion. But it's out now, and I'll be joining the rest of them in a few minutes. And it's good, from what I've been able to see.
- Another good HL mod I discovered: The Specialists. Think Matrix-style Half-Life. You're close enough. I haven't played it yet with others. And NS2 gets priority once I have a decent net connection again.
