Now that I've looked at that post, I feel really silly for writing it. I think I'm getting paranoid. And by paranoid, I don't mean good-paranoid. I mean bad-paranoid. I suppose so many things have changed around here that I'm feeling a little out of place. I don't know.

One of life's lessons: people see the world differently than you do. It is a very tempting and subtle trap to assume that if people do something, they're doing it for the same reasons you would do it. One should never forget that people laughing at one are more likely to be amused than mocking.

Remember you can ask people to clarify their statements flat-out. People I talk to generally revise their standards of normal conversation south a ways.
