Today was pretty fun. Went to the VTSFFC Clix event. I didn't have any clix, so I had the intention of being a spectator. I ended up doing a bit more than that.

Started off by attending a demo of Shadowrun Duels. An interesting combat system. Played against one other attendant, and was winning with my combination mage troll and sniper. My opponent was frustrated at that. But I had fun.

I ended up getting frustrated myself in the DC HeroClix tournament. I had selected (from the borrowing pool) a Unique Joker, a Veteran Harley Quinn, a Veteran Brainiac 13, and an Experienced Intergang Medic. My first opponent, [livejournal.com profile] robertliguori stomped my ass with an Experienced Brainiac 13, a Doomsday (forgot the rank), and a Checkmate Medic. He killed all of my people before I could kill his. I then faced up against [livejournal.com profile] nviiibrown, who had a rather balanced force that whupped me as well, but not before I killed two of his lower-level characters. The 8-year-old I took on had nine (relatively) low-level characters that slowly died at my hands, but the GM called time before I could administer the coup de grâce. At the end, I won a Unique Steve Carlin (LexCorp Battlesuit) which I traded to [livejournal.com profile] rubinpdf for a sizeable force of high-level characters. Now I just need to procure a starter set. and I can have a decent selection for InvisiFest.

I had fun, which is the important part.
