Jun. 8th, 2005 12:12 pmStill alive over here, but I've been through a few things.
For one, we all went to the Green Bank Radio Observatory the day before last. It was OK -- there wasn't a lot to see, and the presentation beforehand didn't teach me anything I didn't already know. Plus, there was a school group there, so I imagine things were dumbed down even more.
What really sucked was the trip back. Grandma had just finished filling up her SUV at the gas station we had stopped at, and it wouldn't start. With the help of a few people, we have determined it was the fuel pump. Somebody offered to get a mechanic from the next town over, and we accepted. But they never came back, as we spent 90 minutes waiting on them.
Finally, Grandma called one of my relatives to come pick us up. Being around an hour away from them, we ended up staying at that gas station for 3 hours before they came and got us. Granted, it was better there than it would have been somewhere off the road someplace, but it still sucked, especially with the heat and no air conditioning and Mom and Grandma forbidding me to go outside or even open a door to get some air.
Otherwise, things have been pretty uneventful here. I'm going back to C-Ville this evening, and resuming work tomorrow, where I currently have nothing to do -- website's done, and many of the projects they had planned for me this summer have evaporated for one reason or another. I'm not sure what else to do, but I think I should have stayed at Engineering...
Oh, can a Spiel person tell me how I can contact Adam? I need to talk to him.
