More drama at play practice today. People shuffling around, trying to get stuff we need for the show. Things getting rearranged. Today was a tech run -- all cue-to-cue stuff. It went OK except for the following:

  • As far as I saw, the actors had some problems with lines. On the few days before we open.
  • We have no working headsets. This was a problem tonight, as our stage manager was on stage right, I (the sound guy) was on stage left, and our lights person was in the booth, and couldn't hear a thing.
  • The set change crew is only just now getting their act together. They may have it all down by Thursday.

Our first dress rehearsal is Wednesday. Can I start panicking now?

Lines problems 3 days ahead? Nah, you're fine. I've played a few roles where I was given a script the night before :-)

I've also been asked to run sound about 3 hours before a show, and I'd never seen the board yet either.

these things have a way of pulling together. for instance, my sister was just in a play. three days before the show, you wouldn't have thought they'd been practicing for five months :P but man, on the day of the performance, it was like someone in the audience was a fairy with a bloody magic wand.

::sniff:: i was so proud.

but anyways, no worries mon. tings'll be ai'ri.
