Computers, Chemistry, and 'Canes...
Spent the night yesterday writing my lab report for Chemistry. Got to bed around 3. I turned it in at lab today, but I forgot my goggles. I didn't realize it until I was there. But, no problem, I told myself -- we're putting lead shot in beakers of water. What's the big deal? Turned out it was. Had to borrow goggles from the TA. Ugh. What a pain.
Skipped MultiVar to do my Chem homework due in recitation. Didn't get all of it done in time, but the TA didn't collect it, so no big loss. In the time afterward, I managed to do a couple of things with my computer. One was installing a piece of software on my laptop that lets me override the CPU limiting feature when I'm on battery power. That issue's been chafing at me a while now. Another thing I did was install a piece of software on my desktop that bypasses the software locks on my video card. It now thinks it's a Quadro4. There's a really long article on this here. The links to the software and the installation instructions are in the article (scroll a little less than halfway down). Just don't screw up your machine with it, cause I'm not responsible for it.
Walked with
robertliguorito Bogen's today. In the storm. Very windy, and a little wet. However, I survived with merely a slighly damp laptop case.
yubbie,
nviiibrown, and
brenderlin were also there. Though nobody else. Understandable. We did little but watch trailers and the first 10 minutes or so of Blade. Very funny trailer on Jerry Seinfeld's movie. It's a metatrailer! You'll get it when you see it. Too many good movies out in November, though...*sigh*...
Anyway, tomorrow I get OOP, my Terascale T-shirt (at last!), and I go to Roanoke. Whee!
