My laptop broke tonight.

Let me tell you something about it: It's old -- it was made in 1988. It's slow (a 286), clunky, and it gathers laughs and snickers whenever I get it out for the first time. It also has a lot of my best school work on it, and not a few games. And over the last nine months, I've grown on it.

It's mostly the data I care about. I hope I can get that off before the thing dies completely. As it is, it's going to need major surgery. I and one of the adults at my Explorer Post had it in many pieces trying to figure out what was wrong with it. I hope we can fix it next week at our next meeting.

Otherwise, I'll have to get a new laptop, and those don't come as cheap as this one did (8 bucks -- how about that?). Ah well...I'll get over this, come hell, high water, or eBay.
